Pair an opening repeat barline with a closing one, and the measures between them play twice.

 

To repeat a section more times, add a text indication like 3x or 4x in its last measure. The player also reads 1st, 2nd, and 3rd endings, the single-measure repeat (%), and the two-measure repeat (x).
