iReal Pro has implemented VoiceOver support for iPhone, iPad and Mac.
(There is no TalkBack support for Android at this time)

The app is fully accessible with VoiceOver and is easy to navigate and use according to our users' feedback.
VoiceOver reads all page elements, all buttons are clearly labeled.

iReal Pro Structure
iReal Pro has 3 main areas (explained below)

  1. Songs/Playlist window
  2. Song view, showing a song chart, playing a song
  3. Editor for the song or new song

iReal Pro's VoiceOver currently supports the first two.

1 Songs/Playlist window
The Song library is where all songs you have downloaded, edited or created, are listing, in alphabetical order.
A playlist is a group of songs, these songs list in the Song library. If you have downloaded playlists from the forum or imported playlists from email or the cloud, these playlists will list here.
You can create your own playlists for specific song groups (for example, your practice songs, a band’s songs, your rehearsal songs).
(Mac only: You can copy/paste songs to playlist.)

A song will reside in the Song library but can also be in any (or all) playlists. And that Song’s settings (tempo, key, repeats number and playback style) can be different for that song as it exists in different playlists.
For example in one band you play the song in A, but for practice you are learning it in D, at a slow practice tempo, perhaps set to a different playback style just for fun.

More on Song settings here.

2 Song view
Select any song from the Song library or in a playlist, and iReal Pro will then show the song’s chart, showing the Song title at the top, Composer (if there is one) on the right, default song playback style on the left (this might be overridden in the Playback controls), followed by the song’s form—time signature, barlines and chords within the bars, Rehearsal letters. iReal Pro supports opening and closing repeat barlines, voltas (first, second time bars), DS and DC with various options, Segno, Coda symbols.
Also user text may have been entered in the Editor from any space in a bar.
A Song is only on one page.

We support VoiceOver reading of the chords in a chart which was a highly requested feature by our visually impaired users.

Playback
A song in Song view can be played back with the built-in Player using the tempo, key, playback style, repeats settings which are in the Player controls.
iOS the Player controls show at the bottom of the chart (which appears with a tap on the chart if not showing)
Mac they are either on the right of the screen or below, depending on which View menu setting you have chosen

Transport controls: Play, Stop, Pause. Use touch (iOS) or keyboard (iOS and Mac).
iReal Pro v2023.11 or higher: Play/Stop, spacebar toggles; Period/full stop for pause
iReal Pro v2023.7 or below: Play/Pause, spacebar toggles; Period/full stop stops play
(You find your version in iReal Pro Settings).

Looping: unfortunately looping a section of sequential bars for over and over repeated practice is not possible when using VoiceOver.

Tap Tempo: is available using the comma key on a Mac or external keyboard (iOS).

3 Editor
Currently VoiceOver is not available in the Editor for chart editing.
