iReal Pro allows every screen orientation. Whether the screen turns upside down is decided by iOS, and it depends on the device.
iPad, and iPhone models with a Home button (such as the iPhone SE): rotate to all four orientations, upside down included.
iPhone models with Face ID: Apple does not allow upside down portrait. The screen stays the right way up however you hold the phone, and no app can change that.
Most people ask about this because the charging cable comes out of the bottom of the phone and stops it from sitting on a music stand. Flipping the phone over would move the port to the top, but on a Face ID iPhone the chart would then be upside down. What works instead:
- A right angle (L shaped) charging cable, which runs flat along the phone instead of sticking out below it.
- A clamp style mount that grips the phone, rather than a ledge the phone has to rest on.
- Wireless charging, with a MagSafe or Qi stand.
If the screen will not rotate at all, open Control Center and switch off Portrait Orientation Lock.
