A soft transposition changes the key you see and hear and leaves the chart itself untouched. Transpose a song from inside a playlist and that key is remembered for that playlist alone.

 

Click the key at the top right of the player controls, or at the bottom right when the controls are minimized. Cmd-T on Mac and Ctrl-T on Windows open the same list from the keyboard, as does Player > Transposition.

 

The menu marks the song's own key as Default.

 

The key in the player controls is always the concert key, the key a piano or guitar would be playing in. If you have set a transposing instrument, the chords are drawn in your instrument's key but still play in concert key.
